SLIDES If you take digital pictures of your artwork, check out the website www.slides.com. They convert digital pictures to slides for a very reasonable price. Recently, they converted two digital pictures into 7 slides for $14 total. I checked these slides on a slide projector and they were good. They even put a black background where necessary. Be sure to crop your picture as you have matted it, before sending an image to them. Carol Peterson - West Texas

Paul Dorrell, author of the renowned guidebook for artists, Living the Artist's Life, now writes a free column for artists every Friday. It's called Friday Tips for Artists, and can be found at the top of Paul's Blog Page (www.pauldorrell.com). Anyone can subscribe. Now that his Book Tour of 60 cities is finished, he's back running his gallery, overseeing major projects for clients such as H&R Block, and helping artists advance their careers. Similar to Paul's columns in magazines such as Absolute Arts and The Artist’s Magazine, Friday Tips addresses issues that all artists grapple with. It also touches on subjects similar to what Paul discusses in his seminars. As usual this is done with candor.

I represent Watermen Art, a new company with a new and unique product for artists, especially watercolorists. We are the inventor, manufacturer, and patent holder of the Mahl Bridge , a high-value tool that surpasses the combined capabilities of all existing maulsticks and art bridges. The Mahl Bridge provides hand and arm support above the painting surface. But what makes the Mahl Bridge unique is its ability to hold any type of draftsman guide in place at adjustable heights above the painting. This allows the artist to duplicate those profile shapes. We have consistently received extremely high compliments regarding the appearance, quality, and above all, the utility of the Mahl Bridge from artists and retailers across the country.
My dad is a watercolor artist who invented the
Mahl Bridge to help him with details in his paintings (ref.
www.WatermenArt.com). He would like to offer his product to other artists.
The reason I am writing you is to let you know of its existence and how artists
in your group can find the Mahl Bridge useful. You can find more information on
our product in the attached file named PICTORIAL or at
www.MahlBridge.com. We also have ads in the most recent issues of
Watercolor Magic and ASMA. I hope you and other artists in your group enjoy
what you see.
Thanks,
Will
